Tet Rally Latvia and Eco Baltia Vide will work together for more sustainable rally

Tet Rally Latvia organizer RA Events and environmental management company Eco Baltia vide will jointly ensure environmental sustainability during the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) Latvian round. A collaborative effort has already begun with an educational campaign among rally enthusiasts on waste management. Now, joint actions will be taken to prevent rally venues from being littered, while also increasing the volume of sorted waste collection points in both spectator spots and rally venues.

RA Events – the organizer of the FIA World Rally Championship round in Latvia – has been organizing various motorsport competitions in Latvia for over 10 years. In the competitions organized so far, RA Events has always paid attention to environmental sustainability issues. As a result, in 2021, Tet Rally Liepāja received the One-Star accreditation from the International Automobile Federation (FIA), and this year it is taking a step forward by applying for Two-Star accreditation (the framework maximum is Three-Stars).

The collaboration with the environmental management company Eco Baltia vide will enable even more active progress towards achieving environmental sustainability goals. During Tet Rally Latvia, Eco Baltia vide will ensure and provide support for waste sorting – there will be widely accessible waste sorting and deposit packaging collection points throughout the rally, including in the service park, spectator areas, and rally headquarters. Together with Eco Baltia vide, a comprehensive public information and education campaign has been launched on various environmental issues and practical tips for more effective waste management. Additionally, a promotional song has been created, encouraging gentle and responsible treatment of the environment.

Eco Baltia vide is part of the Eco Baltia group, the largest environmental resources management and waste recycling group in the Baltics, providing a complete waste management cycle from collection to recycling.

"Environmental sustainability is a significant pillar in the operations of Eco Baltia vide and the entire Eco Baltia group. Therefore, we are already taking steps today to ensure that future generations can live in a green and sustainable environment tomorrow, the day after, and even 100 years from now. We are pleased that representatives of Tet Rally Latvia also see this as a significant value, integrating environmental aspects into their rally stages in Latvia and emphasizing participant involvement. It must be acknowledged that the synergy of our collaboration is even stronger, as our colleagues often need to demonstrate excellent driving skills worthy of rally stages, navigating narrow city streets and residential courtyards. In our case, however, it involves emptying waste containers to ensure that as much waste as possible undergoes recycling," says Jānis Aizbalts, chairman of the board of Eco Baltia vide.
"In all the events we have organized so far, we have always considered environmental and sustainability issues, so we are particularly delighted to start collaborating with a partner like Eco Baltia vide. This year, hosting a round of the FIA World Rally Championship, Tet Rally Latvia will continue to work towards becoming even greener. We invite all rally enthusiasts and spectators to be responsible towards the environment, not to pollute it, and to use the waste sorting containers provided by Eco Baltia vide at spectator zones," says Tet Rally Latvia director Raimonds Strokšs.
